With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday next it’s time to start planning a special cake for your Dad and we have some of our favourites selected for you this week as inspiration for your own designs.
Sporty dads will be impressed with this super smart cricket jacket cake by Juliet Stallwood Cakes and Biscuits (above left), while the business man dad is sure to get a kick out of this blue shirt & blue tie combo (via Parent Society).
A cute little teddy bear with a cool pint of beer waiting for Dad makes an adorable cake topper by Rouvelee’s Creations (below left). On the right, a moustache, suspenders and a bowtie make a charming combination in this cake by Simply Sweet Cakes & Cupcakes.
If you’re spending the day with dad at a baseball game or you’ve decided to join him for a round of golf, these unbelieveably realistic cakes by Janet O’Sullivan Cake Design (left) and Ann Marie’s Cakes (right) are a perfect sweet treat to celebrate the day.
There’s a bit of a Homer Simpson in most dads, so why not honour the Homer in your life with his very own giant doughnut cake? We love this unique design from Baked Stems (below left).
A splash of red adds a touch of individuality to this shirt and tie cake by BE Sweet (via Flickr) – go with your Dad’s favourite colour combo or maybe remind him of one of his zanier choices of shirt and tie combos from the past!
Kids who enjoy a game of footie with their father should look to this amazing bake by Amor com Farinha (left) for inspiration. And a special name tag is lovingly stitched into this cute dedication-to-dad cake by Magical Cakes, New Zealand.
Cakes for All Reasons (left) aim to please the fashion-conscious father, with a sweet matching polkadot tie and pocket square, while Sweet Dimples Cakes (right) take dad to his favourite pub for father’s day with a beautifully sculpted fondant cupcake topper in miniature.
Mom and kids can make this wonderfully detailed and realistic Lacoste poloshirt & sweater cake for father’s day with this great tutorial (available to purchase from the Royal Bakery).
Esperanza Cakes replicate dad’s favourite shirt and tie combination in this snazzy ensemble, below left.

If your Dad is the sauve and sophisticated James Bond type, then he’s sure to be impressed by a swanky tuxedo cake, with two impeccable designs below by Cakes & Biscuits by Lisa (left) and Arty Crafty Cakes (right).
