Fruits of the Forest – Autumn Nuts & Berries

With rustic, woodsy wedding backdrops haute wedding style for 2015/2016, there’s never been a better time to try out decorating with gumpaste fruits of the forest and autumnal foliage.

Inspired by a selection of the some of the best examples of fall-themed cake art below, we’ve put together a collection of helpful tutorials for autumn themed cake decorating:

Starting with our feature cake above, striking apple green accents against decadent chocolate makes a glorious confectionary nod to the rich harvest of the autumn season in our first showcased design above left. Dressed with apple blossoms and roses, this confectionary creation by Erica O’Brien makes the perfect dessert centrepiece for an elegant orchard wedding.

The incredible botanically-correct detailing of a Maggie Austin wedding cake makes the natural inspiration of Fall one of the most spectacular seasons in which to commission a Maggie cake – like the berry and blossom adorned beauty above right.

Ripening blackberries crafted from gumpaste exquisitely coloured are framed with incredibly realistic blackberry leaves and blossoms below, not to mention a gumpaste forest of fondant acorns – the wonderful sugarwork of Hilary Rose Cupcakes.

A simple sprig of autumn berries and blossoms can take a white-iced cake to new heights, as seen in this elegant bake by Erica O’Brien below.
