Fine textured edible lace products have been one of the most popular new cake decorating products on the market in the last year or so.
We’ve seen lots of beautifully decorated smooth fondant/sugarpaste designs adorned with exquisite edible lace, but have you tried your edible lace products with textured finishes such as rustic buttercream frosting?
Jennifer DG Rolfe of Jen’s Just Desserts has with beautiful results. We have two of her fabulous vintage shabby chic style wedding cakes featured above and below with shell pink edible lace overlaid on textured buttercream creating an elegant, old world look.
Below we have another example of edible lace overlaid on delicately textured buttercream from I Sugar Coat It, with subtle brown dusting adding a fabulous aged effect to the lace. A hand-rolled edible lace flower adds the perfect finishing touch to this unique wedding cake design.
