The boho look is fast becoming the bridal look of the year for 2015 and 2016 weddings. It’s a relaxed and natural look – less formal than vintage, more refined than rustic. The bohemian bride favours soft, dreamy gowns, simple touches of lace and beading, an abundance of flowers and cascading bouquets…and we have the cakes to match!
Sweet Love Cake Couture have created the perfect wedding cake for the boho bride above in the softest of pastels, with artfully textured frills, trailing vines and hints of lace coming together in a pastiche of effortless beauty.
Softly frilled tiers paired with trailing foliage is a definite design winner for the bohemian inspired wedding cake with two exquisite examples below (images by Amanda Wilcher Photography and Lucy Leonardi, right).
Opulent styling in the form outdoor chandeliers is very much in keeping with the bohemian spirit (image by Carlie Statsky) – we just love this look and have the perfect wedding cake to set it off on the right with elegant pastel tiers and a statement floral arrangement (image by Taylor Lord Photography).
While this fabulous cake below was originally designed for the “12 Sweet Blessings of Christmas” cake collaboration by Blissfully Sweet Cakes, we think with a few little design changes (look closely an you’ll see tiny snowflakes) it would make a wonderful boho style wedding cake with its hand painted illustrations and organic styling – the perfect complement to this boho wedding gown by Bo & Luca.
Over the top, cascading foliage and tendrils create a beautiful, ethereal silhouette in this stylish naked cake design below left (image via Wedding Sparrow). Gold candles add a touch of bohemian decadence to this effortlessly beautiful cake, below right (image right via Best Friends for Frosting).
