Squires Sugar Flower PasteWhen crafting fabric effect statement bows, it’s best to use sugar flowerpaste/gumpaste to create a finer fabric effect. Because of its strength versus fondant, it’s also much easier to work with when creating large size bows.

(Bulk packs (1kg) of Squires Sugar Florist Paste are currently on offer here at £13.25 with free UK delivery, if you are planning to stock up for a bow-making session).

Sugarcrafted bows can also add fabulous detailing to contemporary style cake designs with two exquisite examples in black and white below by Miso Bakes (left) and Eva Salazar of Make Me My Cake (right).
