Cake Geek was fully expecting to have a new baby Prince or Princess in the UK by now and so this week’s feature was planned in his or her honour. But the little royal baby is keeping us all waiting, so in anticipation of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge having a healthy, happy new baby this week, we present a selection of glorious crown cakes to mark the occasion.
Our feature cake (top left) sees a simple white-frosted cake taken to regal heights with an antique crown topper by Cakes by Krishanthi, beautifully photographyed in a mossy, woodland set by Weddings by Nicola and Glen. On the right, a medieval style crown adds effortless elegance to an understated four tier wedding cake (image by Steve Steinhardt Photography via Style Me Pretty).
An Eastern Orthodox style crown makes a wondrous addition to this single tier cake (below left, via A White Carousel) while on the right, an intricate jewelled crown in rose gold perfectly complements this antique style cake with fleur de lis and scroll piping (via Elizabeth Anne Designs).
Cake Coquette adorn their intricately piped antique style cake below with a medieval style crown (below left, image by Elizabeth Messina), while a hand-crafted crown and baroque mouldings add a magnificent touch to the metallic single-tier on the right from Firefly India.
Pale blue is accented with regal gold details in the two beautiful baby cakes/christening cakes below, fit for a prince via 100 Layer Cake (left) and French Wedding Style (right).
