Watercolour sugar flowers in soft faded pastels are the epitome of bridal elegance this year. Favoured by top wedding cake designer, Faye Cahill<\/a>, using watercolour washes instead instead of petal dusts to softly colour sugar flowers is set to become one of the biggest sugar flower trends in cake decorating this year.<\/p>\n

Fellow Sydneysider, Patricia Hardjopranoto of Yummy Cupcakes & Cakes<\/a> is another big name designer who’s distinctive wedding cake designs feature giant sized blooms in watercolour pastels featured above and below (with the cake top right created by A Pocket Full of Sweetness<\/a> at a Yummy Cupcakes class).<\/p>\n

Softly coloured peony roses paired with pale gold and caramel tones, and matched with shades of sage green foliage, create an impossibly elegant colour palette in the two Faye Cahill designs below, with a nod to the 1920’s with art deco inspired piping, left.<\/p>\n
