Naked cakes are one wedding cake trend which evokes mixed reactions from decorators – those who adore them and those who start to miss their fondant if separated from it for a little too long. Either way, their huge popularity with brides means naked cakes are here to stay and even if you aren’t a huge fan from a decorator’s perspective, this week’s showcase might just change you’re mind…..<\/p>\n

The pared down chic of the naked cake (which technically has morphed into the half-dressed cake\/semi naked cake with a light skim of buttercream being preferred by many designers to a completely naked finish) lends itself perfectly to a woodland wedding theme. Sugablossom<\/a> and Sweet Love Cake Couture<\/a> demonstrate this perfectly above (left and right respectively) with bunches of woodland fern capturing the beauty of the woodland setting.<\/p>\n

Voluminous white florals and an abundance of foliage create a show-stopping display on these two fabulously bridal naked wedding cakes also from Sugablossom below.<\/p>\n
