Pinch at the base of the petal to secure it to the wire.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a foam pad, use your ball tool to thin the edges of the petals. Then using the thin end of your Dresden tool, draw vertical lines along the petals to creating veining.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"599\" height=\"449\" class=\"wp-image-21668 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pic-14.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pic-14.jpg 599w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pic-14-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then leave the petals to dry overnight.<\/p>\r\n<p>Once the petals have dried and before you start assembling, a handy tip is to tape the wires with floristry tape. This gives the wires a certain tackiness which prevents the petals from spinning loosely around the center when you are taping the flower together.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To assemble the flower: take your cosmos center and holding the first small petal, tape it to the center just under the yellow stamen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"595\" height=\"562\" class=\"wp-image-21664 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pic-15.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pic-15.jpg 595w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pic-15-300x283.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Continue taping the other 3-4 petals around the center to complete the first row.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the second row of petals, tape the first petal in the space between two petals of the row above.
