Whichever method you chose your gumpaste mistletoe will add a fabulous finishing touch to your Christmas cakes &amp; bakes.<\/p>\n<h4>Gumpaste Mistletoe Tutorial: Materials<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>mistletoe leaf cutters (or cutting wheel to cut out leaves freehand or from our template below)<\/li>\n<li>24, 26 or 28-guage green wires cut into quarters (or sixths)<\/li>\n<li>white gumpaste<\/li>\n<li>leaf green gumpaste<\/li>\n<li>edible glue<\/li>\n<li>foam pad<\/li>\n<li>ball tool<\/li>\n<li>leaf or petal veiner with vertical lines (or else you can use a Dresden tool for this part)<\/li>\n<li>beige dust color<\/li>\n<li>fine tipped paintbrush<\/li>\n<li>edible glaze spray<\/li>\n<li>lime green dust color<\/li>\n<li>green floral tape<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Gumpaste Mistletoe Tutorial: Method<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Mistletoe Berries<\/strong>: Start by kneading your white gumpaste then rolling a small ball about the the size of a small pea (petit pois), making sure there are no cracks in the surface.<\/li>\n<li>Take a piece of wire, dip it into edible glue and wipe off the excess. Repeat to create more berries. Three berries per stem of mistletoe is ideal.<\/li>\n<li>If you have a lot of berries to make it can speed up the process if you use a bead mold to make multiple berries at a time.<\/li>\n<li>Set the berries aside to try for a number of hours.<\/li>\n<li>Once try, add the tiniest amount of beige dust color at the top of the berries where the wires poke through slightly.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23632\" src=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191126_172634.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191126_172634.jpg 700w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191126_172634-300x111.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191126_172634-150x56.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191126_172634-600x223.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Spray with edible glaze (making sure your work surface is well covered before you spray).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mistletoe Leaves<\/strong>: If you are comfortable working with a grooved board you can go ahead and make your leaves in the usual manner. But if you&#8217;re not, this a simple method for creating leaves. You can also use a piece of corn husk as your veiner for your mistletoe.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-23302\" src=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191125_154216-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191125_154216-2.jpg 700w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191125_154216-2-300x162.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191125_154216-2-150x81.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cake-geek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/20191125_154216-2-600x323.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Leave the leaves to dry overnight on either &#8220;bumpy&#8221; foam\/drying foam or crumpled aluminium foam rather than drying the leaves flat.<\/li>\n<li>Dust the leaves with lime green dust color.<\/li>\n<li>Swipe the leaves through the steam of a kettle to set the colors and bring up a gentle shine. Set aside to try.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Taping Up<\/strong>: take a set of leaves and using a tweezers or needle-nosed pliers held just under each leaf, bend the wire 45 degrees left for one leaf and right for the second leaf.\u00a0 Tape together using green floral tape.
