Autumn is a season that can pose a conundrum for the fall bride who wants to incorporate elements of autumn into her wedding cake design, yet dreams of a lush, floral wedding cake creation.
Our featured designers this week have created a seamless blend of late summer blooms accented with touches of autumn in their wedding cake designs.
In our feature cake above, master sugar florist Amy Swann brings together garden roses with fading pink hydrangea blossoms of late August/early autumn, blended with sprays of pearl-like berries in a wonderfully creative exposition of the changing seasons.
Pavani Kaur of Firefly India takes pretty coral hued roses and frames them with rustic foliage, berries and succulents for a beautiful autumn floral composition, set against bridal white and an elegant greyed tier.
As summer turns to autumn, no one can capture this moment in sugar floristry better than Maggie Austin in her two exquisite floral designs below, beautifully textured with bas relief detailing left, and soft woodgrain texture (right).
