Stencilling is one of the most effective ways to add a delicate lace effect to your wedding cake designs in a flash.
Although it’s not as easy as it first looks, cake master Alan Tetreault has made an excellent cake stencilling tutorial on Craftsy that teaches you all of the tricks including the securing the stencil so it doesn’t move while you use it, preventing smudges, the proper consistency of royal icing for stencilling, getting rid of “peaks”, achieving a sharp clean design and lots more. Below, stencilled lace wedding cake by Kathy’s Little Cakery have created the beautiful wedding cake below with the lace stencilled over pearlized/lustre dusted sugarpaste to create a stunning effect.
