This fabulous gift box cake (above left) with lily-of-the-valley floral spray was designed by the very talented Pamela McCaffrey of Made With Love Cakes. It was initially designed as a christening cake, but it would make a beautiful cake for any occasion. So simple, elegant and pristine perfect. You can visit Pamela’s blog here to view the beautifully co-ordinated cupcakes she made to complement the lily-of-the-valley cake.
Pamela is also the designer of the set of stunning floral gift box cakes above right. From the beautiful sugar flowers to the “wrapping paper” effect (created with two triangles of sugarpaste laid one on top of the other), the craftsmanship is fantastic. Pamela McCaffrey of Made With Love is a UK cake designer we are going to see a lot more of.
Tip: When making gift box cakes, make sure to allow for the extra depth of the cake by using more cake mixture than you normally would in your cake tin.
And to make Lily of the Valley sugar flowers, you’ll find a tutorial here.
Above, we have two more beautiful gift box cakes adorned with sugar flowers from Harmony Cakes and from the wonderful Sugar Ruffles UK on the right.
Our final two gift box cakes are from Bobbie’s Baking Blog (below left) with gift box cake tutorial here, and from Cake Geek favourites, Rosebud Cakes in Beverly Hills (right).
You’ll find more tutorials on how to make sugarpaste/fondant gift box cakes plus lids here, plus a tutorial on how to create a buttercream gift box cake.
